BIOS Update Guide

Keep your motherboard firmware up-to-date for improved stability, hardware compatibility, and performance. Follow the steps below for your specific manufacturer.

A failed BIOS update can make your system unbootable. Do not power off your PC during the flashing process.

    Identify motherboard

    Identify your motherboard model

    Open System Information from the Windows search bar. Check BaseBoard Product and BaseBoard Manufacturer and write down the exact names.

    You can also run wmic baseboard get product,manufacturer in Command Prompt for a quick lookup.

    Read board model

    Confirm the model name

    In System Information, BaseBoard Product is your motherboard model.

    Find support page

    Open your motherboard's support site

    Search Google using your model name. The official ASUS support page is usually the first link at the top.

    Download BIOS

    Download the latest BIOS

    On your ASUS support page, open BIOS, review the list, and download the latest version from the top.

    Locate download

    Find the file on your PC

    The file is typically in your Downloads folder by default.

    Extract archive

    Extract the BIOS archive

    Right-click the ZIP and Extract it.

    Run BIOSRenamer

    Prepare the BIOS file (ASUS)

    Inside the extracted folder, run BIOSRenamer.exe first. It prepares the BIOS file; you should then see the ready file in the same folder.

    Copy to USB

    Copy the file to USB

    When the file is ready, copy it to a USB flash drive or secondary drive.

    Enter BIOS

    Boot into UEFI / BIOS

    Restart and press Delete during boot to enter BIOS. Then press F7 or use Advanced Mode (bottom right).

    EZ Flash 3

    Open ASUS EZ Flash 3

    Go to the Tool tab and select ASUS EZ FLASH 3 UTILITY.

    Select file & flash

    Select your BIOS file

    In EZ Flash, pick your USB or drive from the list, select your BIOS file on the right, and start the update. The system may restart 2–3 times automatically.

    Do not interrupt power during flashing.

    After flash

    Complete the restart prompts

    When prompted, press F1. Back in BIOS, you can press F10 to save changes and exit if needed.
